My Country Count – I finally did it!

How many countries have I visited?

This is usually the first question people ask me. Or sometimes it's the second, the first being “don't you get scared”?

I'm going to leave the scared one for now and tell you that up until this point, I've never actually counted the countries I've been to.

I have started once or twice, but I get bored and then start researching where I'm going next and it all falls by the wayside.

So I've finally done the count and ….. drum roll please…..

I've now been to 92 101 countries! (Updated August 2022)

Here's The Country List:

I know to many of you that is going to seem like a lot, however I feel a little disappointed that I've got so many to go and so little time! It's like the age old conundrum:

You have the time, you don't have the money.

You have the money, you can't get the time.

If I really think about it, that might be the main reason I've never counted. I know its a real first world problem, however to be brutally honest – I am a little upset now I've done it.

I always feel like I've won the life lottery,

so don't get me wrong I'm SO thankful that I've had the capability and possibility to experience as much as I have in my life so far, however in the spirit of brutal truth, I'm not sponsored by anyone, I don't make any real money from my website so for me to travel its a massive balancing act of being able to work to earn the money and then being able to not work for a few months while I travel and ensure that everything else ticks along while I'm gone.

It's all fine for all these “influencers” to tell you that you can work on the road if you are involved in the digital industry, which of course I am, however try getting stable wi-fi in Sierra Leone when a client completely stuffs her website and you have to fix it in the next 24 hours. Not quite as easy as you would think…

91 countries. Wow – that is a lot now I think about it. I wonder how much money I've spent?? Actually no – I'm not going anywhere near that question!
