photo of the week
Every week I'm on the road I choose a photo of the week. Sometimes it's a fantastic photo, other times it's all about what that shot meant to me. Be sure to let me know what you think.
Someone told me on the Camino that you have to book your Alhambra tickets early as it sells out. What they didn't tell me was the definition of early. I tried around 8 days before we wanted to go and it was completely sold out. OMG - panic set in. This is the one thing I wanted to see in Spain and I'd left my run too late. So many websites, tour enquiries and grey hairs later I ended up booking our tickets on a multi-tour package. Was wildly expensive as we considered that the other two tours over the next few days would be probably crap but you only live once right?
Turns out there is a reason 8000 people visit the Alhambra every day. Its stunning and of course amid all the photo's the lions do kind of stick out. I must admit to a fair amount of photoshopping for this one. There was restoration works going on, there was a million people and everyone was very pushy shovey, however I did manage to get about 15 shots, which I merged (to remove the people) and I got a few shots from the other side and put that in behind the lions so you can't see the scaffolding.
The Alhambra is amazing and while the lions are probably not the most interesting part they are the most iconic for sure.
Jenny - photography lover but someone who hates lugging around HUGE camera's so my images are all from my Olympus OMD or my little Sony digital.
