photo of the week
Every week I'm on the road I choose a photo of the week. Sometimes it's a fantastic photo, other times it's all about what that shot meant to me. Be sure to let me know what you think.
This is terrible quality and I know it is not great, but our very first night in Bali after a gap of 26 years we saw a turtle on the beach in Seminyak. I can't believe our luck and we were accompanied by two other women both of whom were as keen as we were to get it back into the water. We were all so relieved when it swam off into the swell.
Sometimes the photo of the week just has to be home. Budds Beach between Surfers Paradise and Main Beach is a favourite spot of mine. I'll never be able to afford to live on this amazing basin but I can eat at Bumble and stroll the foreshore for free!
I've never been to Vivid in Sydney before and had the most amazing luck! I booked my ticket on an affordable boat and when I went to line up the woman directed me to this other dock with about 20 other people. I wasn't quite sure what was going on but this amazing mega yacht pulls up, we all get on and I spend the evening with free drinks, amazing food and cruising around the harbour away from the maddening crowds. I'll take that!
Our last week in Greece was on Zakynthos which we loved. Lots to see there but its not a huge island so you can spend 8 or 9 days and switch between sunbaking and sightseeing. This is Zante the main town where you come in to on the ferry. We were a bit early for the first ferry of the day and the sun was coming up coating the town in an amazing golden hue.
We only had two weeks for Greece so rather than trying to spread ourselves too thin we only did the Ionian Islands in the north. While this isn't a spectacular sunset pic, it had been a gorgeous day and we had swum and sun baked during the day, strolled around the village in the afternoon and ate Calamari at this lovely little family owned restaurant for sunset. It was one of the best vacation days I've had. Just Brad and I in Greece.
Jenny - photography lover but someone who hates lugging around HUGE camera's so my images are all from my Olympus OMD or my little Sony digital.
