30 Second Advice No 9: Choose Pants with a Pattern

Black just doesn't cut it for me on longer overland trips. Actually lets be frank – I'm a spiller no matter where I am and I've learn the lesson that black isn't always the best choice!

Black won't hide as many indiscretions as dark patterned pants will!

Black is a great color for when you sit on something dirty or you drop mango down your front, but pants with a dark color and a pattern will hide even more! This pattern above is less than ideal for me as it has white in it, however I have a few pairs that are black with a navy pattern, or dark green with a brown pattern and those things can hide the fact that you've got most of your porridge this morning on you pants and not in your mouth.

Trust me:

Dark pattern pants better than black!
